Long term airport parking safe?

We will be gone for about a week and are thinking of leaving our car at the Hilo airport. Usually, we get a ride but it may work best to do it this way, this time. We don't have a fancy car, an oldie but goodie. Do you think it's safe enough to leave there in long term parking all week? We think it should be, with cameras everywhere. Mahalo for input!

Short answer.. it'll be fine. My wife spent three weeks on Oahu... while i stayed home in Mountain view.. no problems.

Never had a problem at the official Airport parking lot. A friend's coworker's tires/riims were recently stolen at an "on airport" Airline lot.

Kiana, are you aware of the parking rates? They aren't cheap; $15 per day. Just wanted to mention that in case you didn't realize they were raised recently.

I offer, less than 5 minutes from the airport, covered, off street, space for 4-6 Vehicles + plenty of outdoor parking as well.

Safe and secure, private yard.

Rates:

5.00 per day covered / 3.00 per day uncovered.

10.00 fee ( each way ) for coordinated and flexibly patient, on time drop off and pick up using your vehicle. Free with 1 month or 30 day accumulated stay.

10% of proceeds will be honorably donated to Punaweb.

MY son in law has a house in HPP, but lives on Oahu. He keeps a vehicle at the airport parking lot, and may get a discount as he works for Hawaiin Airlines. He comes to Puna for some weekends. No mention of any vandalism on his car.

Great news! Thanks to all for the input. And yes Tom, we are aware of the rates. A small chunk $$$, for sure, but worth it this time due to circumstances and late departures/arrivals.

It's about $55 each way (before tip) for a cab ride to/from airport (Orchidland). So I figure, if I'm going to be gone for 8ish days, it's a wash. After 8 days it's cheaper to take a cab, though I've always caught a ride or something, so I don't know if airport has a weekly rate.
