"It's a wonder anyone volunteers." In the case of HPP, nobody really competent ever does volunteer, and I don't blame them. Who wants to jump into a pile of poisonous snakes? The subdivision "governing" processes are based on the assumption that those who participate will have the greater good as their main goal. Instead, we get ego trips and "my way or the highway."

This has always been the legitimate site, not Orchidland Voice or Orchidland Neighbors both FACO. It is confusing, yes, Terracore but not if you do a bit of research. It's clear who's a fraud and who's for real. I agree more has been done by the ligit board on our roads than in the last 15 years I've lived here. I pay my road fees even though I don't live on paved.

Instead of respecting the authority of the presiding Judge over a case that they started, this group tried to split off from the genuine BOD after the November 1, 2015 Special Membership Meeting, when Board Members Barbra Arthurs and Peter Houle, who had supported the filing of the lawsuit, were removed from the Board by a majority of the voting membership.

I'm not sure thats the case, that the website is the "legitimate" board. There is an ongoing court case and all activities of any "board" and "websites" are supposed to be suspended. Also there was supposed to be a new election held with votes counted by the league of women voters (per the judge/court). Or at least thats the way I understood it. Don't believe everything you read on the internet...

So no its not clear. I hope the court sorts this all out. And no, we won't be paying our road fees (road fees are for unpaved roads as well so that doesn't even factor in, you drive in on paved roads anyway...).

When we know the money is less likely to be embezzled we'll be happy to pay our road fees.

Thanks for posting that link. It appears that the current election wasn't held how it was agreed by in court.

Granted we can't vote because we're refusing to pay our fees till its sorted, we never even got a ballot...

And was there ever a second court date, the 22nd of June I think it said. Do you know if that ever occurred?

That is exactly why you are withholding MRMA payments.
And to whom do the arrears get paid to out of escrow?
Who's name is on the Bank accounts?
Those are the Real current Board members.
Still I don't want to pay either until someone shows me evidential proof of this mess straightened out.

So it sounds like nothing has changed, there are still two "boards" and we've received mailed correspondence from both claiming to be the "legitimate" board and pointing the finger at the other. About a year ago we received a post card from a deposed board president explaining that a huge fortune had been stolen by the illegitimate group (I have no idea which one that was at this point, or if it was one at all).

The catch-22 here is that if you don't want your money embezzled, you can't vote. But if you send money in, you have no idea where its going, or whether who's cashing your check will be the ones who actually control the votes in the future.

In the meantime, roadwork has been proceeding at a pace I've never seen before. Whoever is controlling the money is spending it. Hopefully we get what you're paying for.

Well this is indeed a mess. Mahalo for the court transcript dayna and big island. So, to me the bottom line is that "Doctor Arthurs" is a sueing agitator, costing Orchidland.org a lot of time and money in legal fees and she should if she has any integrity walk away in the spirit of aloha. Why can't people behave like adults instead of constant agitators. Arthurs and her group should be ashamed and shunned.

The bigger irony being: wasting time and money on pointless lawsuits when it's County that created the problems in the first place with their BS "privately owned roads open to the public".

If all the subdivisions pooled their lawsuit dollars ... progress could happen.

I find article in the June 15,2016 Hawaii Tribune-Herald very misleading and I would suggest that anyone interested in knowing the legal board members of OLCA first inform themselves of the facts by reading the official site of OLCA at www.orchidland.org.

My first question is, how can there be a community member meeting at the Eagles Club when the official site indicates that the OLCA meetings are held at the Pahoa Community Center?

Second, when were the ballots to elect members sent to the general membership? I never received a ballot and in checking with several of my neighbors, they all claim they never received a ballot listing the names of the supposed new board members.

Third, who is the “neutral third party” that counted the votes, and what was the vote count?

Fourth, when were the members of the community polled to see which of the three connectivity points were favored? When was this matter discussed and presented to the OLCA community?

Fifth, where are the official minutes of these supposed BOD’s meetings kept and available for viewing electronically by the general public?

Sixth, is it not true that Barbara Arthurs, the claimed new OLCA President, is the very same person who filed a lawsuit against the legal OLCA BOD (Civil No. 15-1-0238)?

Again, review the official web site for OLCA at www.orchidland.org.

Control over the www.orchidland.org website, along with every other component of this mess is just another thing that both sides are claiming rightful ownership to. However with the web site, whoever changed the password last controls the information presented there. I won't believe anything on that web site until a judge gets involved or there is other compelling information. It could be that the information presented there is correct, I just don't have any reason to believe it. The last two mailings I received from the www.orchidland.org controlling entity contained a lot of misleading and fear mongering language that simply isn't true.
