Looking to identify plants (again) in garden and haven't located that link which had photos, etc. not sure if UHH, HOA or another agency. Can someone share?

OK. I still haven't identified what I'm sure will be a common plant (fruit, nut) to someone. It is a short tree with leaves like super-wide maple, and a "fruit" that looks like a hard, oversized green avocado with seven or eight longitudinal creases. Guesses? My daughter said cacao, but it did not match the photo.....the fruit is harder than any of my kitchen knives are sharp

The nuts drop all the time in my orchard. When they fall I peel off the papery shell if the weather conditions are right and not soggy or moldy. They are not at all bad to eat and taste, well...nutty. Good if you ask me. White and crunchy, sometimes a little chewier and starting to sprout.
