ground cover fabric? Not bad of a price. Looks like it would kill anything under it.

12'x100' for under 100 bucks. looks like it would outlast plastic by about 10 times.

we chopped some cane grass and put first a tarp, then an above-ground pool on top of it, with 9,000 gallons of water. After a couple of weeks, we could feel the grass growing up under the bottom of the pool.

It did, eventually die. I've heard that bamboo will poke through the bottom of a pool.

It's a jungle out there.
