I don't know what's involved in a mayoral recall, but I doubt it could happen by December 5th.
Does anyone know?

I don't think either a recall or impeachment will change his pension status, pensions are awarded by length of time as a county employment, knocking a few months or even weeks off the total time (8 years as mayor plus all the time he worked under Kim) isn't going to cause Kenoi to lose his pension. Some states do not allow politicians to be part of the pension system, others do not allow people who were dismissed for crimes committed as a public servant to get their pension, but somehow I doubt Hawaii is one of them.

Was our Mayor really so poor that he could not afford his own surfboard or bike for his hobbies and Triathlon races? Makes some wonder, Who paid for the nice Watches he's often seen wearing?

If our Mayor was really that broke then why was he taking groups to high end nightclubs for drinks and food on other Islands?

If our Mayor did indeed pay back the money before the end of the P-Card cycle period then why is this a big deal again?

In court our Mayor's attorney's should ask the jury to focus on facts and the mayor's many positive accomplishments during his two terms as Hawaii County Mayor. A few accomplishments being, helping to bring our Island community out of a great recession, build several new parks, upgrade the counties only golf course, help take back Mauna Kea from hostile foreigner's, raise funds for Hawaii keiki to play football in Florida and guided us through several natural disasters. jmo

His "accomplishments" are irrelevant in this trial and will probably not be allowed by the trial judge as part of his defense. The only things that will be allowed are facts directly pertaining to the actions he took that are part of the charges. If found guilty, he can lay out his "accomplishments" during the sentencing portion of the process as part of a plea for mercy in sentencing.

Would you include as part of his accomplishments the effort to combat ROD, as you observed:
This kind of binge drinking by our Mayor does help explain to "me" why the ROD never got the attention it deserved back in 2010-11.

Do you consider the mayors accomplishment in taking a square mile on Mauna Kea from "hostile foreigners" a reasonable trade off for the loss of culturally significant native Hawaiian Ohia forests over a far, far larger area, on an order of magnitude hundreds if not thousands of times larger, and the loss of all the native Hawaiian birds that lived in those forested areas? As well as the affect on Native Hawaiian people who live there as well?

The Mayor brought us out of a recession? I don't think that's what mayors do.
What would anyone waste money sending kids to Florida to play football, surely there are places closer by where you can do that, like... here.
Did he ever declare himself to be against the telescopes? Not that I recall.
