Coursework in Hilo Area - quickbooks
#1
I have never used quickbooks before but need to move over to it for accounting.

Questions:

1. Does anyone have experience with quickbooks and can advise me hw to get started... I have not ever even seen the program yet.

2. Is there a community college or workforce education organizatin somewhere arounf Hilo or PUna that I might take a class?

I have been hunting ar0und n the internet and just can't seem to find anything.

Thank you.

Are you going to do the online version?

If you are they have courses that come with the membership. Also they have free support with the online version.

Aloha Pam

here is a link: http://quickbooks.intuit.com

I have used QuickBooks. My experience was comfortable yet limited in scope of the program. The person I worked for just didn't use it to it's full capacity, hence my limited scope. I think the link may answer some of your questions. Under the community tab is a forum for Q&A.
I don't know of a local course, but would be interested if you find one.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I have looked into these, but I learn better in a Show Me environment. I have to work much harder at an online course.

Still interested in anything local, but again thank you for the leads.

I think the community college offers something along these lines, if I remember correctly. I had a friend who took a short course on this and I am pretty sure it was from them. I will look into it further. I have used it for years and still use it, but am in know way an expert on it, as it has all been self taught, but I did have some accounting courses from many years ago.

OLL would be the way to go, but the Quickbooks class is in Honoka'a... gotta find something closer. I can't see for woo hooo in the dark to drive that long when tired and in the dark. Darn, growing old is a pain!

Keep your eyes peeled for something closer to Hilo... thanks...

Hey Pam,
I've used Quickbooks for the last ten years or so but I don't claim to be an expert. I did payroll, invoicing, billing and my CPA would use the reports for my taxes. If you have specific questions, email me, or if you want I'll be there this weekend and can stop by sometime. Let me know.

there's a place in the hilo shopping center that has quickbooks classes, used to be about $110, i've been using QB for many years in my business, it's fairly easy to use, the best way i found is to buy the QB's for dummies book, it's way easier than the official QB instruction book

Stay away from video professor. At least if you are leaning that way, do a Google search - there have been many problems with that outfit.
