Fukushima Contaminated Entire Pacific Ocean
#21
Well could at least TRY to prove your opening statement that "Fukushima Contaminated Entire Pacific Ocean"?

Feel free to keep worrying about something that isn't true, I'm sure it'll be good for your health.
If you think it is true, please enlighten us with real facts from real, reputable websites.
All those people rushing out to buy geiger counters 5 years ago, don't hear a peep from them (or their new toys) now.
It's simple physics.

Okay Paul. That's fine if you want to believe it's a non-issue. I happen to believe that we're too close in proximity from Japan being here in Hawaii. Dose up on your cilantro and iodine to avoid heavy metals and radioactivity. http://www.newstarget.com/2016-07-05-rad...plies.html

Edited to add this: Also Paul you said reputable news sources. If you only believe it from sites like foxnews then I'll have to point out that the government controls the media and want us to be like sheep. If you don't believe that then our conversation on this topic is over. Aloha and have a beautiful day.

Do you even know what the distance is from Japan to Hawaii? No peeking! Define "close".
Do you understand the first thing about radiation, except that it's scary?
As pointed out before, the Japanese aren't particularly worried. Or the rest of Asia.

"The government controls the media" Okay, it's clear what we're dealing with here. Enjoy your paranoid fantasies and good day to you too!

"Ha ha ha. No way"

I agree! Let everyone know how gullible you are so we can take your posts with the correction portion of salt.

Radiation is invisible, so it's not something we can see, detect, or prove with our own eyes. It doesn't smell like a PGV rotten egg emission either. So what other senses do we have to help determine whether or not Fukushima has in fact Contaminated the Entire Pacific Ocean?

Our ears. It's one of the best of our five senses. And people tell stories about the world we live in which we can hear with our own two ears.

A friend of mine has described recent events experienced by his family several times over the past few months, so it must be true, because the more often I hear something the more I believe it's true. He loves to take his kids fishing. It teaches them about self reliance, life skills, winning (beating fish at their own game) and reduces his family's grocery bill. About a year ago, his wife commented how several other parents at their children's school had noted the kids had a "healthy glow." He thought, no doubt due to all the fresh fish with omega-3 oils they had been consuming.

But one night when he walked past his boys bedroom after he put them to sleep, he noticed a light was still on. He looked into the room and realized it wasn't a light, it was the healthy glow, much brighter than usual. In fact, it kind of lit up the whole room.

At first he said, he was concerned that it might be due to the effects of Fukushima, so he called state officials the next day. They assured him that in the seas surrounding Hawaii, no measurable abnormalities had been detected, and any sea life was perfectly safe to eat. He knows they're a bunch of bureaucratic liars and insists they're wrong, but he refuses to stop fishing or eating what he catches. As far as he's concerned, if the state allows fish to live in the ocean he finds it impossible to ignore them and has no choice but to catch and eat what's out there. For all intents and purposes, the state of Hawaii is forcing the fish on him and his family.

He has also started to test his theory that the Fukushima radiation leak has mutated an endemic fungus into the destructive ROD infection attacking our ohia trees. No one has been able to provide evidence that his claim isn't true, so therefore, i.e. it must be true.

Also, he's now been able to turn off the nightlight in his boy's room, and if the fish radiation increases the wattage his boys emit by another 20% or so, they may be able to reduce light use in the house at night, saving on electricity costs as well as the grocery bill.

Win-win.

Not true: everyone knows ROD is caused by PGV.

Unless there's a link proving that Fukushima was caused by PGV, in which case the development of ROD is merely a side effect.

Granted, the zerohedge article was misleading because it used a tsunami graphic where it "should" have used a radiation graphic but that doesn't discount the theory that radiation from this disaster is definitely having effects.

We don't know what the end-truth is. The ocean is vast and it may take years or decades for us to know the full effects. Until then: https://www.rt.com/usa/155692-oregon-tun...fukushima/

I think most people on here see my topic/post for what it is. I got snookered in with a sensational article and admitted as such.

I believe most people on this forum are intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions as to the extent of the damage that Fukishima and other environmental disasters have caused. I think it’s a place that is somewhere between “No damage at all, go about your business, nothing to see here” (usually from the government or financially invested parties) to “Fukushima Contaminated Entire Pacific Ocean” (usually from people who are sick of what humans are doing to the planet and are willing to do anything to protect and draw attention to it.) In my mind, BOTH sides need to be questioned.

You can tell by the posts who “gets” it.

Later in the thread I was purposely having some fun with a couple of posters who I think are extremely negative and always seem to feel like they have to add an extra level of superiority to their responses to people they don’t agree with. Instead of “Hey, you may want to check this out”, it’s “Hey idiot, you’re stupid, this is the reason why”. I’m not talking about just my topic here. It’s what I’ve observed over the years of reading Punaweb. (Another reason I don’t post as much as others do.) Now I see the visceral reaction spilling over into other threads.

Again, I believe that most people on Punaweb will not be panicking in fear just because of something they read. They have the intelligence to think for themselves. They read the posts on this topic, saw what happened and went about their business. There is no need for me to change anything to prevent the imbeciles from running wild in the streets.

I also think (hope) that most intelligent people question statements made by the government and big business when it comes to negative consequences for the general public. They don’t just take their word for it and ridicule anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
