Not condoning his actions in any way, shape, or form, but all the taxpayer money spent on a case where less than $1000 was alleged to be stolen is ridiculous. For 1/100 of the cost the governor, legislature, somebody could have publicly censured him and railed against him, then gone on with trying to balance the budget. As it was, it looks like a witch hunt - particularly with the not guilty verdict - and Kenoi incredibly could portray himself as a "victim."

Just bad judgment by everyone, all the way around.

I wonder who will pick up the tab at the "Not Guilty" party tonight. I'd pay $3 for an unedited video of the event.

I saw the tracks immediately - they swirled back & forth across the shuffled sand of the path. They seemed the design of indecision, but I am not sure. Mary Oliver

That verdict is now telling those in Hawaii County government, It is OK to steal as long as when caught, you pay it back.

It's a good lesson for the keiki too.

So planning to line item deductions from my property tax bill for lap dances and flights from the mainland for relatives, hooray! As usual, corruption wins here.

I'm beginning to agree with my friends who thought all along that the whole indictment and trial were more of a Hawaii Democratic Party internal housekeeping process than an exercise in the pursuit of justice. The shine was off Kenoi's political apple some time before his legal problems, and this is the way the currently dominant good old boy faction put him in his place.

Don't be surprised if Kenoi's unbounded ego causes him to lie low for a while and then run for office again. We probably haven't seen the last of this weasel.

With the kind of publicity Kenoi has received and with a verdict of innocent on all charges...he's a shoe-in for next governor.
