I am so sorry that this happened. I remember good Mexican food and happy times. I've known people who have had terrible losses from fire (even my doctor, who lost his home) and it is so sad. My heart goes out to all of you this fire has touched. Saying prayers for the healing and recovery. xo

I hate Mexican food, always have. Yet Pam managed to get me over to Luquin's so often and we always had a wonderful time, even though I always ended up with the bill(?). I always thought the reason I ended up there is because Pam was much more interested in the psychic and astrological stores across the road, but I was happy to oblige.

Great memories, even greater loss.

Anyone else find the irony here in the hot topics being signified with a flame?
I wonder if the owners will still be tolerant of all the homeless people living in and around that building after it is rebuilt?
I understand that they do not suspect arson yet? Its very possible it was just faulty wiring somewhere. It's such an old building. It's also possible a hobo fell asleep with a lit cigarette.

I find it odd that they demolished the building before the investigation was complete. I can understand using an excavator to pull the walls out for safety of personnel around the building investigating cause, and to get the road open, but to "grub out", starting at the alledgedly start area confuses me.

It started behind an adjacent property that was once the Pawn Shop.

The homeless have been living behind the Pawn Shop for over a year. Shame on the property owner for not properly securing their vacant building. IMHO, they owe Sal and family an apology.

The demolition work started while the Fire Dept was still hosing down the wreckage, sounds more likely they had to demo to eliminate flare-ups...
With many fires, the investigation takes second place to fire suppression... may be the case here...

If Sal looks at the new code setbacks logically he could end up with some nice outdoor dining areas. Look ahead, not back.
Assume the best and ask questions.
