Check out the aerial photo on page 4.

Now imagine the entire space between Puna Kai and Pahoa Marketplace ... filled in with development of any kind ... served by a two-lane road ...

The architectural renderings in the photo are much more attractive than recent commercial construction in Pahoa, a style which seems to have a distinct preference for the Pole Shed Plus design. Let's hope the new shopping center follows through with the more aesthetic look.

The total price tag for the project is about $30 million ... Original project cost estimates in 2012 were $20 million.
