HPP mailbox vote
Frankly, they seem made for each other.

The HPP Board and Anti-Board are actually in a 3-way with County.

"Reni, it was several of us who researched the bylaws together FOR the membership. Lots of upset members (as one would expect after the major board faux pas), lots of differing opinions and thoughts, so we thought it was worth taking a closer look at our bylaws."

Of course you folks did this for the membership , M,and again I thank you all.
I, on the other hand did get legal opinion ....for my own understanding on the legality of the proposed action and assessment.

I'm sorry if this has already been confirmed, but I can't see it in this thread - I was just wondering if this mailbox plan is dead for good now, or if the office still will count votes? In other words, do I still need to submit my voting papers?

Thank you.

The other perspective of what goes on with both HPP's threads is when some appear to have a malevolent agenda and seem to get pleasure poking negatively at HPP posters. They don't engage in the topic, they have no investment in HPP, aren't directly affected in any shape or form by the whacko board actions, have no dog in the fight.

Then there are those that don't live in HPP and more times than not, give constructive criticism, share their knowledge and offer helpful advice. Kalakoa is one of them. I think I'm not alone when I say I appreciate hearing diff perspectives and aspects that are constructive from anyone whether they own in HPP or not.

We have someone who claims she's not from HPP but has a clear agenda as a board supporter (nothing wrong with that) but it's puzzling why someone would pretend this way yet clearly has strong opinions and feelings regarding HPP issues that most non HPP people would care about...no wonder some get confused on Obe's agenda when she supposedly isn't an HPP lot owner.

Honestly, how many of you read other subdivision's bylaws (let alone your own) and post them on PT HPP threads, OR copy and paste HPP mtg agendas on PT HPP threads? Doesn't add up....

Obe's post below came out of left field unprovoked and unwarranted, having nothing to do w/HPP Road Maint thread. It was a very pointed nasty personal jab to deflect from one of the board reps she supports.

Obe wrote:

I just read the board meeting minutes from Oct and it paints an entirely different picture than the one that has been presented here.

Please read the minutes here :

Especially poignant is the president's letter. One month after being appointed president and he is receiving death threats !

Are you the person calling in the death threats ?

Donating $ or your time to charity doesn't negate or wipe clean nasty and unethical things one says or does.

Both HPP threads are a chop suey mixture of people and agendas, it is what it is...

I would suggest you hold off until we see what the board does at the membership mtg this month. Many of us have already concluded the board has no authority according to our current bylaws to proceed with the mailbox project.

I have a mailbox and I do not have the attitude of "Screw you, I have mine." Absolutely not. I totally want boxes for all houses in HPP, and I like the idea of multiple box sites throughout the park. I like everything about it. EXCEPT... EXCEPT... I just don't trust the board to do it at this time, in this rushed of a manner, with issues at hand noted here and elsewhere, via a badly-written announcement that appeared to be a commitment to pay the fee, with no communication to members about how the letter had been changed and was available online, etc etc etc. My issue is simple: I DON'T THINK YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING - witnessed by road maintenance status. Until the roads are cared for, I will vote no for every new proposed assessment. And I will still pay my road fees, bc that was something I agreed to when I bought here.

DTisme, agreed. Although we don't have a mailbox our lot is on a paved road, but I don't have the "screw you" attitude. I want the board to do what it is supposed to do. Pave the roads

In response to Mermaid 53 even if we dont live in HPP we/most all in the subdivisions have a problem with roads. As I like dogs and would not use a "dog in the fight" as I think that is an infraction/pet peeve against canines I will respond a wee bit.

When it comes to roads in most subdivisions on this great island we have been screwed from the very beginning when the subdivisions were put together and continue to be screwed by the county and state now. We will fight each other as different views of how the roads should be do not add up to how others want the roads to be.

Its like you go to a pot luck and little did you know that it was for vegetarians or meat eaters and now you are pissed and have to look pleased or grumble or get in your car and drive away.

I'm a big animal lover and should've known better....

You are right, we all collectively have very similar issues, some worse some better. I am in awe when I hear there are subdivisions that don't have these issues and it'd be worth looking into to see what they're doing differently.

The sheer scale of HPP is probably one of the biggest components. It always comes back to the same ole thing...can't have volunteers running a multi million $ business...most don't have experience to run a road business, let alone a business. The bylaws and our policies provide a very good guide line IF it's followed.
