Those on the Kona side are having to restrict their water use
They can afford piped water, so no sympathy from me.

One of the many benefits of living on the East Side!
Air conditioners do indeed produce a lot of water in humid conditions, not so sure that's the case in Kona.
I've lived in places where it was well worth my while catching and reusing that water.
The rule about not serving drinking water is ridiculous. As if that will make a difference. I suppose it's just to raise awareness.

Does the many resort room installed air conditioners use any water?
--------
Not really. The large resorts will have a chiller system, in which the cooling tower does
contain water, but doesn't really
use water. The cooled air is ducted through the building and individual rooms can still have thermostats that control dampers and fans to regulate the temperature. They are much more efficient than individual room units.

Should we be expecting the many Kona golf courses to be drying out soon? I love the Texas bump and run shots on hard grounds and when drives run out as well too. Maybe no need for the lob wedge in kona anymore.
If you're sure the approach to the green is not on sacred grounds, then I see no problem using the bump and run shot. However, if you're uncertain, then a high approach shot using a wedge is probably the best option, as it avoids the ball annoying the spirits. However, if you top it or hit the ball fat, you may have to apologize to the deities while incurring a one-shot penalty. Hopefully, the scorecard includes the local rules and which sacred spots are marked hazards.
(I used to be a caddy).
Spoken like a true and ignorant, patronizing snob about both golf and the thoughts and beliefs of many where you call home.
Pathetic.

I'm starting to notice a very distinctly separate group of people on this forum. There's the Normal Folk, Then, there's the HARDCORE.
The problem I see is that the Hardcore have a bit of a tendency to attack people unjustly, have some magical beliefs unfounded in science, and can't seem to take a joke. While I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, they come off as unpleasant.
With that said I found Tom's post very amusing, and honestly, there's nothing wrong with humor. To scorn a deity is to denounce them with active malice in your heart. I don't see any malice in Tom's post.

You are correct about there being different types of people on here. However you are lacking the long history of reading people's posts over the years to make a real evaluation of some of them.

I doubt it. Those courses are probably considered off limit necessities. Sacred, perhaps?
The "not flushing so much" and "not using so much water to shower and do dishes" are the biggies that most Americans are either oblivious to or just mostly ignore.
