pineapple slicer finally broke...
#1
After all these years, my pineapple cutter broke...

This one...

So, I bought a new one...

from target...

----

Problem, is it doesn't cut like my old one did, seems to leave a lot more juice and the pineapple is kinda mushy and dry. I heard that this "type" of slicer doesn't do well with RIPE pineapples, we buy ours from the farmers market.

Then again, maybe I'm not using it right? Dunno tried three so far with same results, gonna try to find the old style again.

Anyone get good results? Maybe my cutter is defective?

Actually I looked at that one...

This one you can zoom in on the lack of workmanship. It looks the same but the older one was built better. I actually bought it from the hilo kitchen supply store down on the waterfront many years ago. Maybe they will still carry it. Wink

Thanks for the help.

Eric, if Jeff at Paradise Rest. Supply no longer carries the pineapple corer, perhaps e-bay & this one that is currently for sale:

Before moving here we had 2 items that didn`t make the ship it to Hawaii list that we still wonder "What were we thinking"
The first was the best hand citrus juicer ever, & the second was a grocery store pineapple corer that worked like a dream, & we got for free when a local grocer remodeled. like this one"
