HPP District 9 postcard ballot
#21
Someone told me when she went to pick up her mail this week at one of the cluster boxes, she saw post card ballots blowing in the wind. Her impression was some may have thought it was junk mail and tossed it. But where? Maybe some people put them on top of the mailbox unit to rid of them? Or perhaps thinking they were doing a good thing passing on the coupons?

Just a reminder...tonight at the Hui "Meet the Candidates" mtg @ 6 PM. Heard via the grapevine, incoming Dist 5 rep is unable to attend due to a conflict in schedule. I like the idea of having this mtg to give us an opportunity to meet candidates, esp if there is more than 1 candidate running in a district. I hope to see this become a part of the district voting process every year. It may bring home to potential reps that they're duty is to represent their constituents, to be accessible to them and to be responsive.

Edited for clarity.

Mahalo mermaid. I was unaware of the meet and greet. Sounds like a good idea.

Couldn't agree more with leo's issues about haggling over costs over an election, knowing you have it every year, when money is going into chip seal. It speaks of a certain desperation at HPPOA.

Personally, I prefer to have them spending a (relatively) little following the bilaws (by mailing ballots) than spending a lot breaking them.
Hiring an Attorney to justify (unjustifiable actions) is a lot more costly than stamps.

Exactly. Hopefully things will improve with the new board members.

And they've only put a dent into the chip seal project which means unless we get a board that comes along with good business and road sense, the park and it's business will continue to go downhill.

"Unless we get a BOD with good business and road sense"

I'm not holding my breath. Haven't seen that kind of BOD in 35 years here. Didn't mind so much when the Road Fees were under 100$ and some maintainance was getting done. Now-a-days, our $ just goes into a pit where it's spent on Lawyers and things the Membership has voted against.

I'll be amazed if we ever get "on track".

I believe that's where Pearl Bakery went after Building/Planning ran them through the wringer.
