I treat the "I found a slug in my salad" at such and such a restaurant claim by the random online post as highly suspect. Comes off as too convenient a scare and smear tactic available for those who may get some sort of kick out of bashing business establishments in the community.

Careful PM2 ... You might hurt someone's feelings and get your post deleted by pointing things such as this out...

aloha and good day.

Tried Kaleo's for the first time yeaterday.

It was a bit crowded (not sure if it is because it is one of the few places open on Sunday or if their food is great).

Host had us sit near a very loud speaker in the corner. Asked to be seated outside, and after awhile were approached by somebody who just started staring at us. She did not look like an employee and I asked her if she had a question. It only got more awkward from there and we left without trying the food.

I'd maybe try them again in the future, but if I can hear the music from the parking lot I'm not going to come back.

Music generally starts at 7pm nightly. This is also a bad time to go to almost any restaurant as it is graduation time. Everyone seems to go out to eat in large groups.

We will never eat there again - heavily salted entree not worthy of dog food and we also noticed in our salad a small slug.We also had sand or dirt in our salad as it was never washed prior to service.
We brought this up to our server and she took our meals back to the kitchen and asked us to leave but had to pay the 50$ plus for our
( 2 ) dinners.
Never again.

Aloha Mrs. Mimosa. If I were you, I would email the owner at Kaleo's website. I have done so in the past when the food was not up to par, and she repaid me.
Bad reviews are not what she wants.

I think they're stretched pretty thin since they are providing the food to the Naniloa since it opened.

Slugs in the salad is pretty unforgivable in this day and age of RLW.

My experience with Kaleo's over the years has not been good. After deciding to never go back due to heavily oversalted food and the noisy hash house ambiance, I got outvoted by a group of friends and recently went back. When we asked to be seated in the more quiet part of the building, we were given stinkeye attitude and told that it might be a very long wait. Shouldn't that be a message to somebody that something needs to be done about the noise? Apparently not. When we finally ate, the food was described by four out of the six in our party as "disappointing." Mine was actually OK, but I won't be back because of the other issues.

Kaleos is now a dedicated tourist spot. Meaning that they take in so much money from non-repeat customers, they have little to no interest in catering to the locals.

Too salty? Good, then they buy more drinks.

Too loud? Good, then the table turn over faster.

"Music generally starts at 7pm nightly."

I'm not sure if you are referring to live music?

It was much earlier than 7.

The volume was loud.

Can't hear what is important.

Bad attitude from server.

Better to give business to somebody who understands things from a customer's perspective.
