Hydro flasks banned at Hilo theater?
#1
Went to a movie with friends, one of them had an empty hydro flask in her purse, and was asked to leave it outside. Any idea why?

Could have been full of booze. Could have been a bomb.
Any reason they want to say to get you to buy a fountain soda for $10.
I'm sure there is a sign that says 'No outside food or drinks."

Don't let them look in your purse.

Problem solved.

If the flask was in her purse, how did they know she had it? Are they searching bags now to keep people from avoiding their overpriced snack bar?

Wait for the DVD release and watch at home. Problem solved.

Better yet...and you'll even have something to swap after you've watched it 10x.

I knew a guy who managed a movie theater and he said to respond that the flask contained Glucerna. If they have forgotten their new hire employee training, remind them that Glucerna can stop a diabetic from dying in their theater, and you wouldn't want to inconvenience them in that manner.

They do look in bags now. It had a creepy "why is the TSA running the movie theater now" kinda vibe. Then the guy with the red wand kept pacing around while the movie played. I imagined infrared cameras recording my every move, looking for an unauthorized stick of gum so they could bust in and drag me away to Guantanamo...

I can barely tolerate security-based searches of personal property. Profit based searches, I'll wait for it to come out on Netflix.

bellyaching again.. on public security safety issues... ... some of you need to get a life.. again

they NEED to search ALL people that go into places w/ lots of people, NOW.. ie sporting events, shows, school events, nightclubs, etc.... its not 1978 anymore.. aloha

you may want to refresh yourself... there is ALWAYS a GOOD reason why they do what they do..
