Feedback to HPPOA on HPP roads

I know many of you enjoy this topic, so I thought I'd point out that Leslie Blyth posted this on facebook for HPP.

I have read a lot of anger and dissatisfaction with the lack of material being laid on roads or any maintenance at all. I want you to know I agree with you and there is no excuse for the lack of maintenance being for the majority of lot owners who pay their road fees.

Despite the many issues facing us with past mismanagement, I want to try and do something about it. It shouldn't go on the way it has. Before the October membership meeting I would like to know how many of you have had little or no maintenance on your road and for how long. What road that you live on. I will not only compile the amount of complaints, the road but will go out and personally look to verify the poor condition.

I will use this information to fight for a better system and stop this hit and miss, whatever attitude, when we get complaints we'll do something current approach which has failed the lot owners who pay in good faith.

I think she wants to know more of the local experience with maintenance and results then she is going to look at their current state. [I base this on the comment discussions on the facebook link I provided.]

In addition she said,

There are over 150 miles of roads in HPP. If she receives multiple reports of those in the poorest condition, it probably helps her to decide where she should begin.

She's giving more effort than the General Manager ever did and it's his job to know the condition of the roads. If he knows the condition of our roads, then even worse because he's done nothing to fix them since he's been employed and the boards haven't done anything to make sure the General Manager does his job. Maybe we're actually going to see some progress finally.

Thanks Eric1600 for posting that. It appears Ms Blyth has the membership's best interest in mind.

This is good news. Another necessary assessment IMHO before they sign a contract for a second phase of CS. Actually stretching the road crew thin has occurred before during the last phase of asphalt paving. To save $ our road crew was used and road and easement maint got backlogged. That was only for a few months and you could see a difference... it's been 2+ yrs for the CS project. The CS work takes the crew away from road and easement maint for weeks at a time per CS mile. I think the end result of that kind of scheduling is evident.

It is nice to see that somebody (on the BOD?) is actually paying attention. Maybe this signals a change in the attitude of the BOD. Hope springs eternal.

It ain't rocket science.
Then just drive on the unpaved and un-chip-sealed ones as a start. That rules out a lot of miles.
