Oh, 10% increase each year also to do less work may have something to do with all the complaints. Dare I ask how much eden roc residents pay for their road maintenance?

Eden roc being compared to hpp is ridiculous anyway. Been here 27 years, eden roc has always had terrible roads and always will. Hpp has gotten as bad as it has ever been since I moved down here from keaukaha in the early nineties. I had grass growing in the middle of the road when I moved to hpp. Very little pot holes.

Last month I was measuring pot holes 8' across and over 10" deep continuously down my road. No material is left on the surface, just dust. How do you fill holes that large when you don't dump new material? I'll tell you, they don't. It gets filled with dust that gets removed with one heavy rain and then we wait again for six months to see same process happen again. Meanwhile our houses get hit with clouds of this dust every dry day when a car passes by.

We get charged over $300 a year for this? With 10% increases each year and the threat of your property having a lein put on it if you don't pay? Our only way of being heard in this situation after so many years of neglect is to bitch and complain. Do you get it now?

Driving around eden roc doesn't solve any of our problems in hpp. What a ridiculous suggestion. What does a lot in eden roc cost vs hpp? How many people live in eden roc compared to hpp? How much money does the hpp board receive each year compared to eden roc? Answer these questions and then get back to us on your eden roc vs hpp comparisons.

I believe it's the whole point of this thread Duh!. But complaining on social media isn't going to accomplish anything. Class action lawsuits Tend to produce results. Oh but that might take a bit of effort..and money .. boo hoo.

You want something done get off your rump.. go down to the mayors office and make a stink ( as a group).

.. lol .. walk a mile in my shoes. Roads.. helicopters. ..gimme a break.

A reminder that this is the purpose of this thread. Leslie Blyth:

I have read a lot of anger and dissatisfaction with the lack of material being laid on roads or any maintenance at all. I want you to know I agree with you and there is no excuse for the lack of maintenance being for the majority of lot owners who pay their road fees.

Despite the many issues facing us with past mismanagement, I want to try and do something about it. It shouldn't go on the way it has. Before the October membership meeting I would like to know how many of you have had little or no maintenance on your road and for how long. What road that you live on. I will not only compile the amount of complaints, the road but will go out and personally look to verify the poor condition.

I will use this information to fight for a better system and stop this hit and miss, whatever attitude, when we get complaints we'll do something current approach which has failed the lot owners who pay in good faith.

This is the first time I've seen a board director ask us to give information about our roads and maintenance history. I've been told her husband's been in the road building business for a few decades.

She is very active on the Facebook thread about it, where she asked for info., and on another thread where she is thanking everyone. Some people chose to send the info via those threads. Everyone is being quite civil about it and are thankful we are finally being listened to. It gives me hope.

Very laudable indeed??! And when will she be running for a County Council seat? Kind of reminds one of Brenda Ford...

The only thing she really has to do is go the community office and look at the list of complaints ALREADY logged in since time in memoriam

True, but others have mentioned they've given up complaining or when they do the repair, and their complaints are removed, it is so poor it's often like nothing is done a month later. I think her focus is on the current conditions and how well the repairs are holding up, including chip seal. She does talk a bit like a politician, however; based on the comments it seems people are just happy to have someone who appears to be fighting for them.

I would just like to take the time to comment on the response I have received regarding the road maintenance. I have been compiling all the information, mapping it out and intend to start my inspections to see for my self what you are saying starting this next week. It's been very helpful to me getting real view of what you folks are experiencing. But mostly I want to say that all of the comments have been clear, to the point and not one person has been, rude, mean, derogatory or spiteful. I am amazed at how wonderful the people of HPP are and how you do care about the community. I am very impressed with all of you. If you see me out and about on your street over the next few weeks make sure you say hello and introduce yourself if you have time. Then the real work begins on getting some solutions. Mahalo for everyone taking time to write me.

Exactly.
Some years ago I lived on one of the worst roads, now it's one the best roads. All she's requesting is for up to minute information about current conditions. Think of it as a weather forecast. You want today's report, which will assist you in planning around events this afternoon. The weather (or road conditions) from time in memoriam won't help much with that.

The Donner Party really wasn't that great of a party, was it?

Indeed. I expect the other Board members will remove her forthwith.

The oldies will try to unseat her OC, but I'm hoping the good guys will get the upper hand this time around.
It seems as if some BOD Members are listening and want to follow the By Laws and show some consideration to owners for a change.
Time will tell...
