Jones Act and Puerto Rico
#1
Here's the text of an e-mail sent to Senator Ruderman this morning.

Date: Sep 27, 2017 8:30 AM
Dear Senator Ruderman:
Is it time NOW to repeal the Jones Act?
Puerto Rico needs aid now. Time to send the Military with aid and equipment to make a start in cleaning up the damage.
Also time to get rid of Trump.
You need to be seen to support whatever it takes to help PR.  This time Puerto Rico, next time Hawaii?
You told me that repeal of the Jones Act was politically hazardous, not favored by the unions.
Do the lives of more than three million US citizens count for anything?
Time to do the right thing, get rid of the Jones Act and in the process reduce Hawaii's cost of living.

Please comment, and if you agree, contact Russell with your thoughts.

The Jones Act issue is probably best addressed to US Senators Hirono and Schatz, and US Rep. Gabbard
for us in HI-2.
I'm sure it would be good if State Senator Ruderman would pass along his concerns to the Hawaii Congressional
Delegation too.
