Hawaii lowered flag today for victims of massacre.

Vegas, Hawaii's ninth island was devastated by the worst mass shooting in U.S history last night. I had to call my brother who lives in Vegas with his family first thing this morning to make sure he was alright. The Numbers of victims and injured are staggering as they continue to climb throughout the day.
The shooter was apparently 64 years of age and showed no signs of doing this. He was apparently a hard worker who had a Pilots license and loved to Gamble at times.

Jason Aldean and his band may not have been targets as they continued to play through the first popping event of what many thought were just fireworks. This is an article that tries to explain what transpired last night at the Mandalay bay Hotel.

May not be so easy to carry suitcases or golf clubs into these large Casino's or Hotels in the future. The 911 event certainly changed how many of us could vacation or fly.

Maybe the hotels could put sensors on their windows so there would be an alert if one was broken.

Sad story but not Hawaii related in any way, jmo. The mainland can have their dumb laws and live with the predictable consequences.
Meanwhile it's a beautiful day in Hawaii.

PaulW,
I called relatives in Vegas today and i am pretty sure others from Hawaii did the same. Plenty of Hawaiians live in Vegas because there are more jobs and living is affordable compared to Hawaii. Something like this could someday happen in Hawaii at one of the many resorts, concerts or business meetings. Did you know Paul that the Governor of Hawaii himself Mr IGE, referred to Vegas as the ninth Island. Most folks who go on vacation from Hawaii probably have Vegas on their list as a possible vacation destination. There might be a few folks from Hawaii who also go to Vegas on super bowl weekend too. Just saying this incident may be Hawaii related in one way or another. jmo's

No, I don't think something similar is likely to happen here.
It's a pity that the most popular vacation destination for Hawaiians is Vegas, a sinkhole for hard-earned money.
Another great thing about Hawaii, no gambling.

A certain political party was pushing for a vote making silencers legal. I keep thinking how many more would have died had this shooter had a silencer.

Given his elevated position, firing in the dark, I would imagine muzzle flash would have been a dead giveaway regardless of acoustics.

I don't think it would have mattered. Silencers aren't silent like the movies want you to believe.

He didnt care about keeping quiet.. He was one of Satan's imps spreading hate and death.
With a room full or arms, ammunition, and explosives he was the Spectacle of Death himself.

A silencer would have been like a wet dream to him! He went full bore into the death and tragedy of others.
