New Federal law circumvents Hawaii's CCW process

Sheese, HOTPE! There is room for debate on the CCW aspect ... You are totally wrong on the other aspects
1st - Let me say that I think Hawaii currently has reasonable gun laws already in place. As I mentioned before, I've owned firearms in the past, and who knows, I'm getting older and may want to buy one again in the future. I don't see that Hawaii laws as enacted would prevent me from purchasing and using a rifle or shotgun as I would like. The registration and education requirements are not an obstacle, and I'm glad they're in place. 2nd - SCOTUS issued a majority opinion on 2nd Amendment rights. There was a minority opinion. States have interpreted and legislated differing laws based on the majority opinion. So plenty of room for discussion! Even when the discussion is among house representatives from, let's call them the "dumb"* states, who try to expand their unregulated approach to gun ownership beyond their own borders, and force their state laws on our state of Hawaii. They can vote on it and see whether or not they have the support. Any of us could save them some time though, and tell them they don't. I think Hawaii may have the most reasonable gun laws in the nation. This has resulted in the lowest number of gun related deaths in the country. I see that as a positive consequence to how our state has implemented the most recent SCOTUS decisions. We have enough laws on the books, we don't need more in either direction. * gun licenses for the blind, and toddlers "Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm." -James Madison, The Federalist Papers, 1787

While lower homicide rates may be correlated with increased gun control that doesn't indicate causation.
I think other factors are at play. You can have and act on violent thoughts with or without access to a gun. People are dangerous, not guns. How many people die from alcohol related deaths each year vs gun related deaths? Why is there not more alcohol control? It doesn't work? Gun control? Also doesn't work? Honest people are honest and criminals who don't follow laws will find guns with stricter laws or not. This is just one of those get them arguing and then walk away topics to waste everyone's time so you don't focus on an issue that matters.

Here's an article (below) about the different types of gun laws around the country. The fewer regulations a state has, the higher their gun related death rate. When you look at the charts which compare statistics between states, if you can't immediately find Hawaii listed, look at the fine print in the bottom left corner of each graph, where it will say Hawaii's death rate is too small to be calculated.

The real downside to visitors bringing their guns with them is that those weapons are sure to be stolen from Hotel rooms or cars when unguarded.
Those guns would end up in the hands of criminals. Its a bad idea and should face stiff resistance IMO.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

If only our judges would seriously jail or rehabilitate these criminals, they wouldn't still be around to rob hotel rooms or use illegally acquired firearms against the lawfully unarmed. It's almost as if the county is squandering our tax dollars, and we are trying to do their job for them.

Thief Steals Numerous Firearms from HPP Home January 18, 2018 Numerous firearms to include pistols, rifles and shotguns were taken. https://www.bigislandwatch.com/2018/01/1...-hpp-home/ Since the (numerous) firearms were taken by a thief I think we can safely assume that an arsenal of guns, presumably for protecting the owner's home, are now in the hands of a criminal. Which is pretty much the opposite of what the homeowner thought would happen. "This is an island surrounded by water, big water, ocean water.” - President Donald J. Trump
