Aloha Wegian & my fellow Punatics:
You are so right...an update is overdue! Since the last update we've been busy nearly everyday caulking and priming.Long days and aching bones, but we're making progress.Royall stopped by to see us one day and we had a great chat! It's always good to see and talk to you Royall!
During the past week we completed the plumbing rough-in and the inspector is due on Monday. After that inspection we'll be starting the electrical rough-in.Things are progressing close to our schedule and if everything goes right,we could be done by late May or early June. The biggest concern will be getting hooked up to the power. We've had to use a generator from the beginning since the power needs to bev extended to our pole. The pole is there but power stops at the pole just before ours.Unfortunately after HELCO inspected the pole it was dtermined that it was rotten and will need replaced.Apparently the phone company originally installed it,so it will be a coordination between them to get the pole replaced. In the mean time I'm required to get the trees between the poles trimmed.I was surprised that that was my problem, but since I'm the one asking for power then according to HELCO,it's my responsibility. Can't wait to see how much that will cost.Anyhow HELCO said it may be possible to get power before the house is done, but they can't promise that. Here's hoping they can!!!
Sorry, but I haven't taken any new pictures.I'll try to keep up on posting.Oh,and we've been going to Merrie Monarch every day,and I'm all hulaed out!!
