Anyone know the national average ratio of teacher to administrator?

It came up back when they were doing the furlough Friday thing that there are more administrators ( most on Oahu) than teachers

For every teacher on this island there are 3.7 in administration .
We are dead set against any type of new taxation to support admin.
Most of the education monies now go to pensions for retired admin .
If it was 3.7 teachers for every person in Admin - retired or not then plenty of funding for our education system .We have a grand daughter whose sole job in admin is to shred paper - day in and day out for the last 14 years as she works in a office under 3 secretaries when one secretary would be plenty in her perspective .

You can compare Hawaii student/teacher/admin ratios to other states on this chart:

Table 4. Total student membership, total staff, student/teacher ratio, and student/staff ratio for public elementary/secondary education, by teacher and staff category and state or jurisdiction: School year 2006–07

Portion of Hawaii’s drinking water that comes from underground wells : 9/10
Gallons of raw sewage that leak into the ground from Hawaii cesspools each day : 53,000,000 - Harper's Index

When I did real backbreaking work, I was paid 3-4 times less than later in my career when I was hired as Admin. When I got my first paycheck, I went to HR thinking they’d made a mistake in my pay. It just seemed like way too much money. It’s ridiculous that the people in the trenches make so much less than Administrative IMHO.
