What with all the gasses evolved from the fissures and lava, I'm beginning to worry about my young avo, citrus, and other trees.
So far we've had 4 or 5 days of heavy gas accumulation.
I'm thinking that there will probably be more to come.
Seeing all the dead and dyeing vegetation near the new lava has me worrying about my young trees.
What effects might come from exposure to the gasses?

They did a vog study years ago with College of tropical horticulture and reasources
CTHAR on vog in kau .in a green house outside a green house with spray offs of several
Plants,coffee,citrus,avos and found a spray with water worked best after and during
Heavy vog. Farmers in kau and southpoint lost alot of plants.

So far my avos and citrus seem to be OK.
I'm noticing that thin leaved plants from trees on down in size are taking the brunt of the damage.
Albezias are shedding their leaves in mass.
Whether or not it is actually killing them remains to be seen.
My thin leaved orchids, Oncidiums, Spathoglotis',Cymbidiums, Neobenthamia, Miltoniopsis',and others are showing signs of burning from the acid conditions.
But, the Dendrochillums and a few other thin leaved orchids seem to be OK.
It may be where they were that made the difference.
Also, the smaller thin leaved ferns are dying.
Yard Impatiens and Begonias have been stripped of their leaves.
Uluhe and Ohias look to be shrugging it off.
It's just another day on the volcano for them.

I was looking at some of the aerial footage of Leilani. The winds are consistently blowing the winds southwest. The vegetation on the clean side of the air is all green and lush. Even right up against the lava.
The vegetation on the southwest side that didn't get burned is still brown and yellow, (dead).

Yeah, saw a video the other day.
A guy was looking for an address on another street.
As he drove along Moku, he noted how green it looked here.
Then, he turned into our drive way while talking with the person he was trying to get to on a cell phone.
As soon as the person he was speaking with told him he was not at their place, he says Oh, I'm on the wrong street.
Then, he backed out of our driveway.
We got a good chuckle out of it.
I'm still worried about my fruit and ornamental trees.
Our Puakenekeni,Jabuticaba, Longan and a few others are probably dying.
Many of my orchids are looking very puny.
My citrus look to be doing OK, but have almost no fruit left on them.
So far, the avos have only dropped their older leaves, but only 1 still has fruit left on it.
What with the gas attacks today, tomorrow and the others that will probably happen before this is over,
I'm expecting to have to replace many if not all of our existing trees.
In the aerial videos I've been noting all the yellow lawns.
Ours is turning yellow in patches.
It'll, be gone soon.
