Here's an interesting site, I think these are like the new house here next to the park at the corner of Leilani Ave. and Moku St.: www.tonysthouse.com/balit/exportt.html

Yes, it sure looks like it. You forgot to mention that the house in question is in violation of the CC&R's of Leilani Estates!

Gee I'm sorry to hear that. When Gene and I were there September 04, we met the gentleman who was building that house. When we were there he was working on the landscaping and hadn't received his kit yet. What a nice man he was, so kind and explaining and answering our questions. I know the CC&R's are strict in Leilani, but I sure hope they make an exception for him. What is the issue John do you know? Mella L

The CC&R's used to say "No two-story buildings" but that was changed to "18' height limit from the highest point of the lot" last year. His house exceeds the limit. BTW, I own the lot right next to him and I am glad he did such a nice landscaping job, it raised the value of my lot by $10K!

If I remember correctly this gentleman with the Bali home was a landscaper professionally. He bought his kit from the Teak place on Hwy 11 not far from the Harley shop, between the Harley shop and HPM I believe. I hope the association makes a positive decision in his case, as you say he improved the value of your property!
John do you know an older lady by the name of Uta (sp?) who lives on Malama, on the mauka side down by the end? She and her former husband, whom we met at an association BBQ, were also very kind with their time and in explaining about Leilani to us. She is German and grows many many orchids. Just wondering. You never know about the LCA, they can be pretty stupid sometimes. (They disapproved one of my houses there after it was already finished! Mind you, they have 30 days to approve/disapprove!) I don't know Uta but I am sure Larry does.

LCA can be incredibly stupid about things, they're pitching a fit over this beautiful house and yet they have allowed several of those ugly quonset hut type buildings. I understand the height limit was to preserve ocean views?.. What ocean views? The only oceanview lots are on or near lower Malama St. I'm so glad I'm in unit #1.
