How about the super expensive consultant designed bayfront soccer field that is unusable due to flooding and sewage contamination?

Or a farmer's market fined thousands a day because pop-up tents are a fire hazard?

Thought of some others from the last few years - at some point, it would be good to have links to all of these:

* The whole Billy Kenoi farce;

* GMOs and the county's decision to allow a yogic flyer with no qualifications other than ballroom dancing to speak for ages to the council but not allow UH researchers more than a couple of minutes to testify;

* The Superferry fiasco.

OHHHH I have lists... but will share just three

1) The initial delay in warning Leilani residents of lava... first videos were taken & posted online before 4pm on 5/3, with CD & Fire at the site, first notification for below Luana - 4:40pm, first notification for the whole subdivision was almost 6pm.... coming from tornado alley, where couple o minute relay from trained spotters to broadcast & siren is normal & a 10 minute delay would be looked at as criminal... the delay here was un-excusable...

2)all of the county time & expense to open Pohoiki for one day & issue lots of full access placards to residents to enjoy the park


3) (the one near & dear to me)The announcement of the reopening of Pahoa Pool on a Wed. in Late May, when volcanic ash, cinder & glass strands were falling by the bag full into the pool, pool deck & all over Pahoa. & when the trained water safety personnel mentioned the amount of tephra vacuumed out of the pool & advised not opening, for the county administration to claim that everything that can be done to open the pool should be done because opening the pool was a "high priority" for that Friday... of course, the expected thing about running tephra through a filter & pump system happened... delaying this "high priority" pool opening most likely until major pool renovations can be done (but I am sure the county will add that cost to the FEMA bill for this disaster, not to the county ineptness fund!)

Another thing I forgot: The Mauna Kea State Recreation Area. I don't know the latest about the place, but this is what Wikipedia says:

...but just that one farmer's market, none of the others with the same tarps.

For that matter, walk through Kailua Village and count the number of similar "fire code violations", you'll run out of fingers....
