#1
Sure feels good and soon as the plumber comes out today and fixes a connection, we will have water. Now if I could just get over the food poisoning ordeal.

Great news Nancy!

My persoal cure-all is gatorade - drink as much as you can handle for a few days. It really works!

Gosh Nancy - so sorry to hear you are still feeling the effects of that...are you SURE it was food poisoning? Usually that is "in and out" of your system in just days. Have you been back to visit the doc since the episode you had originally?

P.S. - so good to hear you have your power and water in order...what a relief that must be for ya.

Nancy: Congratulations! I am SO jealous! ABout your final. NOT the food poisoning. And I agree with Carrie. Food poisoning should NOT last nearly this long.

Food poisoning depending on what type it was, say salmonella, ecoli # variant can be aqq kicking. Gene and I both had it a while back, sure we got it from bagged lettuce in date by the way. We were violently ill within 3 hours of eating mac and cheese I prepared, salad from a PRewashed bag in date, he had roquford I had italian dressing. 3 hours later we didn't know to sit or pray to the porcelain god. Slept hardly any that night then 24 hours straignt. I promise you the truth here, my kidneys felt sore for a week and a half. Yes Gatorade is a life saver, I believe it David!

So glad to hear you got your final Nancy. Hey way up town KW's also!! LOL

Did you ever get the floor finished or was that someone else that was planning on the cement flooring art designs? Aloha, Mella

Heh Joe, you will get there...and we will come get that wood soon...thanks so much!
Should I be calling the electrician soon?
I really don't know why it has lastest this long..the Doc was thinking the meds they gave me in ER might have damaged my inerds? I think I might have had and episode with my appendix? No one seems to know. I really don't care what it really was if I can just heal and get on with life. All I had for that first week was Gatorade, and thank goodness for it! Mella, I was going to do the Forever floor thing but we ended up putting Armstrong Vinyl Tile in the house and painting the porch floors which I hope to do the floor art thing to in the future. But right now its just great to be in our house and have power. Wow.

So Nancy tell us what was the secret to getting power, as you previously said it was a terrible problem. What happened and how did it get fixed? Thanks, Mella

Well, we never had temp power as we used power from the neighbor and paid them. Then when the house was pretty much done and we were about to lose the neighbors power we tried to get temp perm but the county wouldn't let us. We had to get an additional square footage permit and when that was approved we called for a final inspection. Well because of trouble with our house designer and some mistakes on our part the county wanted a letter directly from the architect approving all framing, change in water tanks, and stacked washer/dryer in bathroom plus the scam of the safety glass. The architect graciously sent the letter and we got finaled. A friend of ours who is a contractor gave us a name of a person at Helco to call and ask for emergency hookup and 2 days later we got power. Had to use the generator only 2 days. Also the engineer had to run down our house designer to get papers and he personally took them to the health dept. Lots of people mad at our designer. So thankfully we had a professional architect and engineer who saw it through for us. I do need to write a building phamplet of what to do and not do if you want your project to go smoothly if you are an owner/builder!
