A bit over 3" inches since 6pm, and now lots of thunder and lightning.
I would have thought that with all this rain, my truck would be cleaner.
Edit: auto correct fix

I have a 2-3" deep stream running through my property where I've never had more than a puddle before, even after weeks of rain! So ... Much ... Water ... And it just keeps dumping nonstop...

Could you please explain this? I have no idea what you're talking about.

TomK, I noticed that too. For a while there was a separate set of tracks modeled on the east side of the big island. Perhaps another vortex was being tracked at one point.
Well, the rain has slowed down now and I no longer have a stream/pond in my yard. The dogs seem fascinated by the freshly soaked areas, probably all sorts of scents washed down from mauka...

TomK, the NWS is calling the convection cells area SE of our island a `tropical wave`, bringing up the normal band of convection cells from the equatorial area up to just SE of us.
Some of these cells, as I noted earlier, start generating a cyclonic pattern - most likely the modeling programs run with that... though they have not formed enough for tropical depression formation...
This tropical wave anomaly is expected to stay with us a few more days & give us more of the liquid blessings... so even though much of Lanes effects are out of our county, this wave will stay with us in East Hawaii maybe until Tuesday...

This map shows the route through Orchidland via Pohaku and 40th as being open. Don't believe it.

TomK, for a time the weather pattern designated Invest 95C had developed southeast of Big Island. A few spaghetti models picked up the storm and showed it on their map with Lane. Here’s a more detailed explanation, scroll down to “Another Wrinkle: Invest 95C”:
