You all all more than welcome to send the choppers up to my place in MT View. The white noise of the chopper would be a welcome change from the usual high pitch whine Im blessed with from Tinnitus. although I do get an occasional bass beat with it from the fool behind me that sits in his truck with the radio on full blast.
(Who will someday have Tinnitus ill bet.)
I have a sudden craving for popcorn..

I want to hear more about empathy from the fake science dude who went on the radio to tell people they were about to die in their millions but it was all good because they were unhappy anyway.

How many flights do you estimate per hour?
Drive down to the cell phone parking lot at Hilo Airport.
You can count the helicopters taking off and landing. If you're interested in where they fly over, go into their offices and ask what parts of the island their tour includes. That won't give you an exact route, but you'll have a general idea. You will, however, know precisely how many helicopter flights there are daily over East Hawaii. If you take binoculars, you may be able to see (roughly) where they're going.
At the height of the lava flow, there was a news report of hundreds of flights every day.
On Tuesday night, 9/18/2018 Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono had another message for the Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee “Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing.” She added in another related comment, “Bull$hit.”

"Friends of mine lived under a helicopter flight path many years ago, when there were far fewer residents in the area ( they have since moved lower down the mountain). They took 2 sheets of plywood, cut them lengthwise, and painted one word on each in large, bold letters - " YOU PAID TOO MUCH! ".
On boat days, they would place them in their driveway, which gave good visibility from above. It took just a few days before they were no longer under a flight path."

As noted before, not possible for that many flights, based upon the number of helicopters on island, length of time per flight (especially those from Waikoloa) not all flights even go over to the lava flows, refueling and unloading/loading times, etc.

I’m counting about 200 takeoffs and landings a day now. I wonder if there’s a way to get stats on the airport?

Tour helicopters “hot load” passengers every 15-20 minutes at the north end of the Hilo International Airport runway. Hot load means boarding a helicopter with engines running.

I agree, 100%. I too am amazed that our parents let us watch that stuff. When I look back on all those saturday mornings spent watching that corrupt, and I mean OMG have you gone back and looked for yourself? corrupt ain't got nothing on what we went through. Again. 200 takeoffs AND landings... is not "hundreds" of flights per day. Not possible. Maybe.. Maybee.. 100 in
total and not all go out to the lava flows.

And then drive over to Kona and watch/count how many choppers come from that side...

So I've been noticing more jets leaving unsavory chemtrails lately.
But it is so much nicer out here in the acres nowadays without all that helicopter noise. We dealt with it for 30 years+ out here!
I'm not kidding we were the helicopter highway back then. If you draw a line on the map from Hilo to Puuoo I guess it went right above Hawaiian Acres.
There was a lot of complaining and absolutely nothing done. I empathize to those dealing with it now.
Don't worry, after awhile you won't "hear" it as much. It becomes the new normal. At least that was how it went for us.
