#21
The environment is just pretense. The goal is destroying your freedom...

Yes, another example of how our educational system has failed us.

the issue is basically a corporate approach to dairy

It can still be expressed as a zoning problem: cows are inherently "agricultural" regardless of scale. Big Island Dairy is an industrial operation and should be subject to the land-use restrictions applicable to industrial use.

Should there some some allowable runoff of effluents along the Hamakua Coast, relative to other Hawaii shorelines? This 40 mile coast drops into deep water, and is virtually devoid of reefs, lagoons, and swimming sites. Strong oceans currents push along the whole coast, dispersing effluents.

But the answer here is No. Violation of the federal Clean Water Act.

How many of those complaining residents still have a cesspool?

The main problem with these manure ponds is once they fill up everything then coming is is overflow. So at that point you basically have a sewer line that merely dumps raw sewage downhill toward the sea. And I gave worked a dairy farm. Cows produce a lot of manure.
Assume the best and ask questions.

We don't have anything even resembling freedom, we are all slaves to the wage machine, and it's been like this for at least a decade.

Utter malarkey.

The only reason we have a middle class, and the prosperity that entails, is BECAUSE of capitalism. We started naked and starving, and created everything we have via capitalism, pure and simple. Capitalism doesn't take it away, it CREATES it.

You have no concept whatsoever what it really means to be a slave. Capitalism, NOT socialism, is the ONLY road to prosperity for it creates, not merely redistributes, wealth.

Your diatribe is that of an adolescent (at best), and bears no semblance to the U.S.

Keep it Hawaii folks.

It was capitalists (Republicans specifically) that took Hawaii from the Hawaiians. It was capitalist Republicans that created the plantation system here which was a form of economic slavery and was thoroughly rejected after WWII. That was then, this is now.

Failed YOU, no doubt, but not me.

I see past the facades to see what the real object is. It isn't difficult if you had been educated enough to see the consistent patterns. Always some ostensibly-noble cause that invariably demands that freedom and opportunity be whittled-away.

And they are better off for it, MUCH better off. I don't see any of them living like they did before with death being the penalty for stepping on the shadow of the King or a chief. They were primitive barbarians before we showed up.

From Rob: "The main problem with these manure ponds is once they fill up everything then coming is is overflow. So at that point you basically have a sewer line that merely dumps raw sewage downhill toward the sea."

Isn't waste from cows significantly less problematic than human waste? They're herbivores. Seems river and the ocean waters would have some tolerance for that. Just asking.
