Great AkoniV, It has been a while since we were reminded of another icon that rose to near fame and great notoriety, well at least throughout the company office where my wife works. Mr Tibbs made his first appearance back in the mid 90's as an office conversation piece, his good looks and quiet persona allowed him to remain at post through out the building. Before long some one got the idea to dress him up for various holiday events. Then his creator took him on vacation and returned with pictures He rose to star status quickly and was allowed to travel with other responsible, and not, parties We had the pleasure of having him accompany us to the Big Island in 2003 to act as a witness at our wedding vow renewal. He had a great time and many of the sacred tiki's touched his little heart. Mr Tibb's had traveled to some 15 vacation spots around the world and was also being prepped for national exposure via MTV but He suddenly disappeared in 2004 and his disappearance remains a mystery still today. Here is a link with a few pics of him on our trip Smile

The first photo, as you can see he quite impressed by all the lava, #2 is how we found him the morning after the night before #3 his return form the wedding #4 like most cool cats he liked to climb trees, We had to grab him many times Wink)

We really hope "Bud" is much the same great liaison as Tibbs was and should he travel keep a close eye on him Smile)).

HAHAHA I should be doing something constructive but this is too fun.

MrTibbs so cute where are you? Who handled the chain of command there? He is so cute I can see why he disappeared, probably a catophile like me stole him!!!

Now "Bud", is that short for PunaBuddy? LOL He is a traveling guy already with an itinerary! Wow, wish this had been in August and I could have had him visit Spain and he could have had Flamingo dancing lessons! Hum maybe hula lessons before he heads overseas. Sure looks like he had a fun time at the farmers market!

Will his very own website have a link to Punaweb.org? Somebody needs to photograph him with a Punatics sticker too!

Good luck Tony!

Aloha, Mella

Well done my friend. I feel a little pain that I could not help out due to the move...no chance that we will see him at the Punaweb Party at Wyatt's? Could we adjust his intinerary a little to compensate?

Oh yeah - Mr. Tibbs is a hoot! I especially love the pose he struck on the Lava Field LOL!!

It's a sign, man.

I love the look of Bud. Although he is a person of small stature, might I ask his actual height? He's very handsome as gnomes go. And being of Celtic descent myself, I have to say his website is appropaux with the lettering style...places as green and lush as Puna are no doubt teaming with woodland type fairies and gnomes as it would be a very inviting place for them to live. Good decision on staying off the menehune toes...they have their own special place in Hawai'i. You're a good man, Tony.

Akoni, baby. Thank you for this very fun bit of performance art. Love the idea. Mr. Gnome doesn't look very Hawaiian though. He looks Dutch or something. Can we add a lei?
