Environmentalists Terminate Hamakua Dairy

I can't think of a subject that is less important than drinking milk. Is this is what Hawaii is all about these days? We have some serious problems to deal with yet this seems to attracts people's attention.

Yes, I am a cow's milk addict and have to live with this addiction for the rest of my life. I drank it in my early days but managed to wean my way off the stuff. There are occasions when I feel at my lowest, that despite my brain telling me otherwise, I drink a glass of milk. I'm trying to follow the 12-step plan for getting off milk but you can't just make a decent cup of tea without it, so what am I supposed to do? It's hell on earth.

And I'm now led to believe that some coffee drinkers have resorted to putting milk in their coffee. Maybe milk should be made illegal.

milk (a wholesome, nutritious food)?

I agree.. it is questionable. And any position statement, such as suggesting it is a wholesome, nutritious food is purely an opinion, and far from universally supported.

From: https://milk.procon.org/view.answers.php...nID=001317

Pro: "Milk is good for the bones because it offers a rich source of calcium, a mineral essential for healthy bones and teeth. Cow's milk is fortified with vitamin D, which also benefits bone health. Calcium and vitamin D help prevent osteoporosis... "

Con: "Cow's milk is not designed for human consumption... Cow's milk contains on average about three times the amount of protein than human milk does, which creates metabolic disturbances in humans that have detrimental bone health consequence..."

More pro and con at link above.

Is broccoli or kale or turnips or carrots or pigs or chickens... "designed for human consumption"? What basic food is (besides the obvious)?

Perhaps you should buy a round of Brie, or some aged Gouda or even Cheddar (Sharp). Or some Yogurt or Buttermilk. Support your local dairy AND enjoy life at the same time!!!

Once they have destroyed the dairy business, they'll come looking for your Ox!!!

Then don't join this Facebook group, along with me and the thousands of other residents who aren't. The members could use some company though.

I don't know about making milk illegal but, OMG putting it in coffee! Now that is a crime. Unless it's a Latte, of course.

I wonder if the anti-milk consumption people also avoid whipped cream? I put some in my coffee yesterday to be festive. I could get addicted to that. Much tastier than yak butter. And what about the centuries-old practice of consuming cheese made from various kinds of milk? Is this considered barbaric? Or only if it comes from cows? I can't live without cheese, Gromit.

There will be an Anti-Milk rally at UHH this Saturday at noon. Beware of protesters drinking Milkadamia and Almond Milk.

Protesters will be singing songs with gongs in thongs and sarongs with bongs, come along.

"Humans are the only animals that drink other animals milk on a regular basis."
