If you're just talking about loud explosions a lot of them are trash bags filled with propane.

Yes, we all know those Trump-supporting-climate-deniers stomp on puppies and eat kittens when they are not befouling the environment.
Seriously, how did you take a question about fireworks and turn it political?

Honest journalism was replaced by "the media". Everything is political, or politically incorrect, to whatever degree suits the propaganda they are pushing. Don't blame the victims, it's not their fault.

I'll never understand the minds of people who make house-shaking explosions in neighborhoods that amounts to animal abuse.
Launchpad for rockets: bad.

According to the incident log, eight of those calls were in Hilo, two in Ka'u and one in Kona. The booking log listed no arrests on fireworks-related charges.
All my neighbors were lighting off big fireworks, lighting up the sky in every direction, but apparently fireworks in Puna don't count towards the "official" incident log.
Pretty sure some of the "fireworks" were actually 12-gauge, but those didn't count either.

If Alaska Aerospace could schedule a full slate of rocket launches twice a year, a few days either side of a New Years & the 4th of July, would anyone even notice? If they did and called in a complaint, would the police bother with a response?

And to think, this all got started with a simple question about size and cost of fireworks. I really should have listened to my inner voice.. "don't post anymore on Punaweb"
