#41
Does Tulsi live in Puna? That means if elected and she wants to come home for the holidays.. Pahoa and lower Puna will be shut down by secret service. How fun that will be.

She was born in American Samoa.
Raised on Oahu.
She represents Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District which includes Puna.
She doesn’t however live in Puna.

No kidding. But Hey, Pahoa has a lot of practice throwing out the red carpet for big wigs. Just look at the reception given Pele last year.

Go Tulsi!

Mr. President!!!

I thought we weren't allowed to discuss our MORON, IDIOT president and talk national politics here? Surprised Rob hasn't called it a wrap here or addressed this yet.

PS there it is, the puna politics section, down at the bottom, right next to OldCrocs thread, "Mazie is a bigot" Shouldn't this thread be down there?

Repetitive incorrect spelling, and either a lack of punctuation or excessive punctuation can make understanding the intent and meaning of the written word more difficult. Try as we may, when words and punctuation are scrambled, something likely will get lost in the transmission of the idea the writer intended to share with us.

Think of it this way. Incomplete or careless sentence structure is like the guy who walks into a party with his zipper down. He almost, but didn’t quite finish dressing properly. He begins talking with the group and may have something important to say, but if we’re distracted we’re not listening intently, more likely our minds wander and we wonder, “does he know his zipper is down? Should I tell him his zipper is down? Why did he use three exclamation points?

If the intent is to keep ‘em guessing, admittedly it’s a rather effective technique.

I've quoted more than I usually do, but it's to make a point. HOTPE is right on the mark about not making the message clear when excessive punctuation is used, but there's another aspect to this. Multiple exclamation points are what you might expect from an overly-excited child. And when you see "!!!" it suggests the author really has no serious point to make but, instead, is resorting to emotion and over-enthusiasm in an attempt to cover up the fact they really haven't much substance to post nor do they have a serious argument.

It's about credibility, RWR.

Yes there is a Puna Politics section however, if you look at the main Punaweb page:
http://www.punaweb.org/Forum/default.asp?CAT_ID=1

under Punatalk (this section) it says discussion of local politics is allowed.
There have been numerous political threads posted here in Punatalk in the past, as well as threads discussing Hawaii political figures, Jen Ruggles most recently. It’s a fine line, sometimes issues are better placed in Politics, other times in Punatalk. My own opinion is that if a political issue is all encompassing, and has wide ranging impacts on residents of Puna, it’s appropriate to place it here.

You may not agree.
I have tried to remind people the politics discussed here should stay local, as is also noted on the page in the link above. That’s true for the Puna Politics section as well, and the people who abuse and ignore the rule here would no doubt do the same in either section.

It wasn't a couple. It was three, and I was pointing out that they look a lot like spy craft to me. You may be comfortable with some overweight Russian spies hanging out here, I mean gee, if Trump can do it why can't we, right? But I am not. They are spies, treason is treason, and it is obvious that Open is one of them. You can tell by the way he, without shame or embarrassment, spreads the party line here like it is butter. Well sieg heil to them. What? Germany and Russia are close, what does a little difference make? They're all commies, right? Meanwhile Mrs. Mimosa says Yellowstone gonna blow.. so there's that. And it's Sunday! Conspiracies are closing in from all sides!

Puna, heck she doesn't even live in the 2nd district. She lives in Honolulu, which is also where her main office is.

We all did. Bernie won the 2016 primary here in Hawai'i by a landslide.

No, he won the caucus by a landslide. If it had been a primary, he likely would have lost, or at least been very close. Just look at Kaniela Ing vs. Ed Case.
