Because they're smarter than us? And maybe because they didn't have the "right people" endowed with medical pot licenses and guaranteed a fat income? In the world of Hawaii economics it wouldn't be "right" to have free, unfettered competition.

Recreational MJ will pass with strict, expensive requirements that only the established MMJ companies are ready to comply with. This will ensure that the well-financed and connected MMJ companies will dominate the recreational market as well. Well, the legal part of the market, anyway...

I believe this is true in all of the states that have legalized it.
The state is still going to have the same stringent regulations.
You can grow your own but if you live in a place where you can't grow it or you are a snowbird, you have to buy it.
A nice clean place is preferable to some, as opposed to some shady guy hanging out a Kehena !!!

Not a crowd for the second day...drove by around 1pm and there was no line. Either that or they were closed.

Only one person at a time is allowed through the outer door. They check you ID and card.
They give you a clipboard with a paper to sign, then they let the next person in.
There are a dozen or so chairs.

I guess I'm just wondering how much business they will get. Probably way too early to tell but with their special low low price introductory offer being 50 - 100% higher than the street price I don't see how they can compete.
Oh, yes I do. Expect green harvest to ramp up drastically.
