It is a failure of mine, but alas, understanding the essence of history, in lieu of the details, is far better than the reverse. Many here DO the reverse. They retain and regurgitate the details, but never learn the underlying lessons to be gleaned therefrom.

I am genuinely interested as to how you have such a shallow interest in history yet think you can pass yourself away as some sort of authority. If you don't care about the history of Hawaii, why on earth are you discussing it? History is a great learning tool and stops us from making the same mistakes over and over again. Someone with an admitted lack of in-depth knowledge of Hawaiian history lecturing those that live in Hawaii seems utterly ridiculous to me.
You did the same thing regarding the scientific community here, telling them they have no idea what they are doing or how they analyze data; yet you don't even understand basic science. Maybe you get a kick out of appearing uninformed? Or is it simple trolling?
Also, you don't need to have an intimate knowledge of the history of a place to realize and voice that one-party rule is a horrible idea, regardless of the reason it exists.
Sadly, you seem to place yourself firmly in that camp.
