Catchment tent cover plan needed
#1
Does anyone know where on line I could find a schematic for building a PVC conical "tent" cover for my catchment tank? For once Google was not my friend, and nothing usable came up on multiple searches. And yes, I know this is something relatively simple, but I'm a klutz, and the guy who will build it for free says he needs a drawing of how to do it. Thanks in advance!

For whatever design you come up with I recommend conduit over pvc. Conduit is sunlight resistant. Price difference is negligible.

It is 18 feet in diameter and about 4 feet deep. Metal frame above ground pool type in good condition. I should have included that. Thanks!

Your size catchment tank is "standard". Go to Island Catchment in HPP and buy the center piece that accepts/joins the electrical steel conduits (5-7 1" conduit pipes). It's not expensive. Buy the conduit pipes wherever you prefer (Home Depot, HPM, etc, I think $10 each, but it's been awhile). The pipes will have to be bent slightly where they meet the tank walls to help secure it. The guy at Island Catchment will explain how to do it. Alternatively you can purchase pre-bent things as shown in photo below. As others have said, don't use PVC. You have a steel tank, use steel cover pieces.

The key is buying the "spider" joiner in the middle that connects all the pieces together. If you tell Island Catchment what you are doing, they will either sell (at amazingly fair price) the pieces to do it, or tell you where else to get them. And their advice/information is always free.

ETA: it looks something like this: https://ibb.co/NChYhzb The guy in the middle of the picture is looking, lovingly, directly at the "spider" catchment tank joiner thing I described above. As well he should. It's amazing.
