"promote economic development"

The second resolution, SCR86, requested DBEDT "to conduct a study on potential industries, other than tourism, to promote economic development in the County of Hawaii."

Oh look, someone noticed the "dependent on imports" problem again.

Here's how the state can promote economic development: Get out of the way.

Get out of the way.

State could also honor permits as issued and enforce laws as written.

TMT should have been built by now.

Local example: anyone remember the fire at Verna's in Mountain View? May 2015:

Just four short years later, that location has reopened as Frankie's Pizza.

Four years.

Perhaps they were waiting for some "economic development".

Anybody eat there? How did Mountain View get a pizza place instead of Bland Asian Food?

Anybody eat there?

Haven't tried the pizza. Don't order the fries. Hint: not a real kitchen (but they do have slushy machines, four flavors).

3-7 Mon-Fri, 10-3 Sat-Sun.

Hmmmm. To keep my post “on topic”, I think I’ll help them develop economically by trying out the pizza sometime. I’ll let you know how it is...
