Electric fence

I’m having trouble keeping my cow contained. I am considering a solar fence. Does any one have experience doing this. Any recommendations?

They work great. I got mine from Del's in Hilo. There are varying strengths. From little critters like cats mongoose and chickens to dogs and pigs to cows and horses.

Gotta keep the brush underneath from reaching the line and grounding it out so some maintenance is required. Some people spray nasty roundup to accomplish this but I use a propane torch and weedwacker.

UH Extension has a 10 page article on electric fencing, it’s designed to keep feral animals out but should keep domestic animals in just as well. There’s a brief description on using solar as your power source too:
