Has anyone seen fiberglass domes on the Big Island?
This company looks like some kind of a public/private partnership. Most of their work seems to be in extreme climates and on government or quasi-government projects.

Looking for info as to how they hold up, ease of construction, tolerance to acid rain, critters, etc.
Thanks.

There are about 25 of them built in the Marshall Islands. From the looks of the ones in the link you provided they are the exact same ones that that company sells. They are all on concrete slabs and by all reports are very stable in storms, etc. No painting required and they are stable in the salt water envirenment of the atolls which is much more severe than here.
The website you directed us to has a link to the RMI houses I alluded to above:

Obviously they are a little different to decorate and furnish - but not difficult. All reports from folks who live in them are that all in all they are an excellent choice for the tropics.
Constructing an owner-built home in Nanawale. Learning lots of new skills and patience during the process. My wife will join me when we reach the "dry stage" of construction.

thanks for the feedback, kimo. And keep the pictures of the progress on your place coming - it's great to see the progress.
