Limited time.
For those of us who were used to getting them fresh off the dock in Alaska for $5 each that is really steep, but sometimes the taste from a previous life is worth the premium.

At one time you could get crabs for free in Kona at the hospital

I believe these are the folks who supply KTA. You can visit them at near the Natural Energy lab in Kona. Got crabs, lobsters and other goodies.

When living out in Dutch, I picked up a taste for king crab.
I'd sit there on the dock watching them unload.
I'd take my pick for $10 apiece.
I'd pick the biggest I could find.
I'd cook them up, clean them, put the carapace back on and package them up with ice packs.
Then, I air freight them out to every family member for X-mas.
I could get them delivered for less than they could buy just the legs in a market for.
Later, I'd do similar with 20# minimum Silvers.

Interesting. You can buy directly from them cheaper than KTA:
