Access to Mauna Kea
And yet another petition:

https://bigislandnow.com/2019/09/03/cult...-petition/

"The Kanaheles consider this area a wao akua (sacred realm), which is supposed to be free from the encroachments of human activity and construction."

Well, if that is true, I assume the Kanaheles are also opposed to anyone visiting the summit as well as building ahu in the summit region. This may not go down well with some of the other protesters who have built ahu in the summit region in recent years.

Upzoning the summit to Urban sounds like a great idea.

"free from the encroachments of human activity and construction."

“it destroys the open, unobstructed space of the conservation district.”

But... but... they just built, a keiki room/library.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

They built that shack and called it a children's school so when it gets torn down they can go hysterical on social media about being oppressed and not being allowed to teach their culture to their children.

But it's not on the road, it's on DHHL land, so don't knock it down. Stop playing into their games and let them be hypocrites on their own land.

Regarding that cute little shack that popped up illegally on their own land, (Hawaiian Homes Land): The KITV newscast this morning said they were calling it a library? Very doubtful. Probably a lookout shelter station for their continued protests. It is going to get colder up there soon with winter coming and less and less people are going to be willing to camp the night up there in the elements. However I have been lead to believe they are against structures on the summit of the mountain and maybe the saddle area isn't as sacred but I could be wrong.

So finally we have an answer to the question... “how do protestors plan to replace the $1 million a year in keiki scholarships provided by the TMT?”

Excellent idea, right up there with "if only the media would ignore them".

WAKE UP PEOPLE, WE ARE BEING PLAYED.

How one small minority opinion could pretend polls, facts, public opinion and courts could be ignored with lawn chairs on a cattle grate. And call their actions whatever they wanted for news reporters, knowing it will be repeated without more than a single source, verification, or a pesky request for historical references.

"Today so&so said after King Kamehameha united the islands he once proclaimed Mauna Kea..."
Within 10 minutes it becomes a fact on Facebook and Twitter.
