As I’ve said before, this issue should have been put on the ballot in November.
Whether or not to build TMT on Mauna Kea should have been decided by ALL the residents of Hawaii.

What difference would it make, the protecstors don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks, they'll block that road anyway.

It would help alleviate the ambiguity.

All I can think of when I hear "protectors" now is that photo of the sovereignty nut "serving papers" in his fake vest, house shorts, and cheap slippahs.

Nice idea. Too late now. The courts have awarded judgements to build. Enforce the law. The protesters already say to throw out any polls.if there was some kind of informational vote, they wouldn't honor it anyway.

Now they are saying only native Hawaiians should have a say so they would not agree with the result of any election. Besides this is a fake state so elections don't really matter. One ridiculous claim they make is that many of the protectors aren't registered voters.

I mentioned on the previous page, even if it was a Native Hawaiian vote, what percentage blood quantum would it be based on? If 50% was the determining factor and the vote came out in support of the TMT, some would then claim only 100% Native Hawaiians should vote. And if that showed support for the TMT, another argument would be made by the 500-2000 camped out on the Access Road.

Again: the "rule of law" is completely valid when it reaches a conclusion with which the protestors agree, otherwise it's an "irrelevant opinion of the illegal occupying government".
Blood quanta is merely a distraction, as is "registered to vote".

Not limited to elections: Hawaii is a scam.

Tha anti-TMT propaganda on social media is producing results. A new poll shows support for TMT is decreasing. Warning, paywall on the article. Throw up enough sh*t then some of it will stick.

The other side has vocal (if misinformed) supporters, an encampment with protesters, infinite online virtue signaling opportunities, and is flipping the finger to law enforcement and the rest of us with no consequences. Our side has a b**ch of a governor residing over a lazy, incompetent, corrupt government. Our side is acting powerless and "losing". No one wants to be associated with losers.
