I'm considering getting one of those cargo haulers (similar to link below) that attach to a trailer hitch so I can do smaller transfer station runs in my sedan. On the U-haul site they show a hitch plus $42 installation fee for a reasonable sounding $300 range, but the only installation option is in Kona.

That is a handy rack. I got mine from Harbor Freight for $60. They also have an aluminum one for $85.
Harbor Freight ships to Hawaii for items less than 70 lbs. Their carrier weighs 31.5 lbs.
I checked mine on a flight as baggage.... boxed up.

Tow kit is usually a bolt-on accessory. The one on my truck was made by U-Haul.

I watched the video on how to install the hitch. Definitely something I can do, but it includes dropping the exhaust system while potentially laying in fire ants. I'd rather pay somebody $42 who can do it in a few minutes with all the right equipment.
ETA: I'd just prefer not to drive to Kona to do it.

If you got the one in Amazon link then all that is necessary to attach with trailer hitch is that bolt, lock latch and key, advertised below it as something commonly bought along with the hauler.
That literally just takes a few seconds to put on and take off.

Ah, you don't have a hitch. If installation really involves dropping exhaust it may be a task for an auto shop with lift.

Hawai’i Campers at 670 Pi’ilani St installed my receiver in July. They did a great job for a fair price and I’ve towed my boat without anything falling off. Two thumbs up!
I researched buying and installing my own but a lot negative user comments on the difficulty of trying to thread nuts inside of blind frame channels changed my mind.

Thanks for the info. Did Hawaii Campers also sell you the receiver? Do you mind telling what they charged to install it?

I can put them in, i used to be a draw tite dealer in kona. Usually u may have to drill 2 holes, but not allways.
Takes about. 30 min
