My faithful old lawn mower is a Craftsman Platinum 7.5 self-propelled. It's about 7 years old and has never failed me. But now it's not starting after dying and it smells like the motor is about to blow up. A strong burning smell. The oil level is normal. I have been putting regular gas in it for a few months and will never do that again. Yes, Rob can have your mower because if this one is dead then I want to buy a new one. Thank you for your responses. I just wanted someone's name in HPP in case my grandson's friend is unable to fix it.

Most of those craftsman mowers only need gaskets replaced in the carburetor and possibly a priming bulb.

It took about 3h. Battery is 180Wh, charger is 80W.
A quick re-trim today only took 30m, used about half a battery. I'm going back for the 14" chainsaw.

I need a new mower but have been on the fence when it comes to electric. Would definitely need at least 2 batteries. Is the deck made out of metal or plastic?

Good question. It's all plastic. Not sure how it will hold up: it won't rust, but it also doesn't have to support an engine block. It did come with a 5-year warranty. Cheapest way to get the second battery is ... bundled with the chainsaw.

I'm also looking for someone to repair a Ryobi electric mower. The bolts holding the motor are stripped and loose. Not an option to repair myself. The only thing I saw online is Puna Small engine repair. Has anyone had experience with them recently? Or other recommendations in the Puna or Hilo areas?
Certainty will be the death of us.
