Very nice David. Two things occur to me...you must have many family members 'cause it's huge! And you will need training in relaxation after all of this giant project is finished LOL! What's after this? Many swims in your pool to test its water-worthiness?!

Punagirl - yep, concrete countertops. Sophie and I just discussed this again weekend. Will probably go with the black as in Atl, but try a different mix to get a smoother appearance and try to cast the edges, not trim with wood. I'd really like to find some local "planks" (ohia, eucalyptus, mango, koa, etc) to fashion the upper, bar level.
Carrie - still plenty to do after house is finished - 21 acres to make productive with fruit and veggies. Anticipate MANY long soaks in the pool - notice lack of word "swim" as swim would require energy and I'm not sure I'll have any left. I have 7 siblings, Sophie has 5. Her family has already visited twice and more scheduled for Nov. I don't expect to see many of mine as they find it diificult to find their way out of Maine. Of course, if we sent them a fully paid airfare... UPDATE on PROGRESS: Plumber called this AM, had his crew onsite all day. Will be back to finish rough-ins later in week, then we can get a plumbing inspection YEAAAAAA. Pic site updated also. What a GREAT day!!!!!!!! David Ninole Resident

Looking great David. At this pace you’ll be in be for me! I’ll be posting an update on our project tonight. The weather has been great for building for the last few days even if you’re inside. It gets so dark and gloomy when the rains come through. I have some of those quartz work lamps but it is hot enough in the house already!

An unexpectedly GREAT week - the plumbers showed up.
Actually a crew of 4 showed up Monday AM and proceeded with the rough-in work. They also produced a shopping list of items I needed - tubs, drains, shower controls... Sure wish I had known these were required for rough-in. HPM, HD, Fergeson's.... BTW, anyone planning on installing a jacuzzi tub, the faucets are special order, luckily, we found 1 set available on Oahu and had them in hand Thurs. Plumbers came back Friday - 4 in AM, plus 2 more in afternoon. When they left, all the rough-ins were complete, except gor gas lines; sewer line was connected to cesspool, water line run to pump area. Geez, this place is beginning to look like a home. I cringe whenever I look what this plumbing contract is costing, but when I look what they accomplished in about 72 manhours, I realize I would be hard pressed to get it done in a month by myself. We will be first time owner builders in HPP 2007 and we are considering the concrete SIPs that it looks like you have used for your construction. We will be on the BI Nov 23rd - Dec 5th 2006. Would it be possible to see your project? It looks very interesting. Susan & Scott - Tempe, AZ PS Just read that you have connections in Maine. We lived in NH prior to moving to AZ! You'd be most welcome to visit during that time frame. We have family leaving the 24th, mainland friends to visit in Puna the 26th. Not sure exactly what will be going on otherwise. Hopefully, we will have passed rough-in plumbing inspection, the electrician will have completed and passed rough-in, and we will have passed framing inspection - at least that's my goal for mid Nov. Also by that time all of our windows (HPM) and doors(HD) ought to be onsite, perhaps some even installed. There is a good chance the garage doors (HD) will also be installed by then. Oh, and all the appliances we just purchased at Sears (20% off sale) are scheduled for Nov delivery. If you are looking at the ProTEC system, that means Castleblock. I'm sure Rob can get you introduced to other owner/builders. Keep in touch via email and we can exchange phone # when time comes. Look forward to meeting you. David Ninole Resident
