Maui County Sues Oil Companies For Climate Change
#1
Maui County faces enormous costs from loss of property and infrastructure due to sea level rise along their coasts. They’re holding fossil fuel companies accountable:

"Fossil fuel companies knew #8213; their own experts warned them #8213; about the potentially ‘severe’ or ‘catastrophic’ effects of doing business as usual, and the damage that could be caused by producing, marketing and selling their products.”

Maui has money to waste. It is a absolutely useless gesture.

Maui has three recently closed sugar mills in Paia, Puunene, and Lahaina. I have no idea if they might be operational again, or what it would take, but the island could potentially produce plenty of ethanol. There are 100% ethanol cars manufactured for the Brazilian market.

How long do you think that would take is ther no problems 3years. That is it doesn't get protested to death. By the way who is going to pay for all those ethanol cars. I guess rest of the cars can be junked to a land fill really a good idea.

They’ll make space right next to the buggy whips, 8 track tape players, engines that run on leaded gas, and cathode ray TV sets.

Before fossil fuels we were burning whale oil.One of the most active whaling ports was on Maui.

The blame starts with them and those damn cavemen who discovered fire !

“Someone needs to pay,” Victorino said, in a news release.

When the lawsuit fails they can say "well, we tried..." and then start sending taxpayers the bill.
