Hawaii super ferry redoux
#11
The Superferry was killed by "the protectors" of the time. Now they've moved on to windmills and telescopes but ferries would certainly lose in a rematch.

Was just curious what yall thought.
I saw that they stole a bunch of sacred stones from a river in maui. When the ferry ran there.
Ive seen guys go to aloha cargo with 4 coolers of shot fish to take back to oahu.
Imagine 200 divers with cars from oahu hitting our resource every week.
No fish left in 5 yrs
And it.would make it easy for thieves to steal and just ship it in there car.
Aloha

I think to help solve the problems of SuperFerry of the past, they should use the ports and docks of the cruise ships. Have Ag department type check to assure no "contraband" of plants containing LFA or other pests, invasive plants, sacred rocks, etc.. Also only allow passenger service only, no cars as to "streamline" the ferry so it is not a fuel hog like the last one.
Why do you need a car if you are going to visit Auntie, they can pick you up. Visit to Kaiser? Offer Kamaina rates on the taxi system, or have transfers on the bus system if in Honoruru to save the headache of parking, traffic, etc. , and maybe take the train with same transfer when it is up and running seeing your tax dollars at work first hand.

Had thought about that Kalakoa, but was being gentle in that it is interisland traffic. Already played that game getting here, but hey, the Feds have to get their cut!
