Anyone just feel that earthquake? Strongest/longest one we've felt in a while. I was sitting on my computer, felt it start, waited several seconds for it to stop as it usually does. Instead, it got stronger. I ran to the other end of the house where it took several seconds to convince my boys that the current earthquake was in fact slightly more important than Sponge Bob. We ran outside and stood in the driveway and still the quake continued for another good 10-15 seconds. Our vehicles were rocking back and forth and all the birds went quiet and all the dogs were going crazy. What a way to start the day!
We're in Hawaiian Shores.
Aloha,
Jody

That was the biggest one I've felt too.
We're up in Volcano.
The birds went quiet.

From the earthquake map (
http://tux.wr.usgs.gov/) it looks like it was based in Kohala.
Yikes. Based on how it was in Volcano they must have had quite a shake.

Did I pay for the roller coaster ride? It moved our cd rack away from the wall and knocked some photos (unframed) off the shelf.

Looks like it was a 6.3! I hope everyone is safe.
Check out the quake activity list on the following page. It's incredible how many aftershocks there have been.
