I've had both.
Usually a body centered flu or a walking pneumonia, that can last up to 3 months before I finally tire of the cough and lungs filled with liquid and finally get medication.

That's why We've cancelled our European vacation this year.

The Doctor Li Wenlaing, who had first reported the possible Coronavirus outbreak died more than two months after contacting this virus. Two months after the Dr was silenced now More than 700 have died with another 33,000 being infected. About 1 out of 40 have died from this Coronavirus with the majority not cured yet.
This Virus may be getting closer to our boarders as Many Americans were flown home today from Wuhan China. Also, A large criuse ship docked in New Jersey today with many sick people. Also, About 100 Students from an Ivy league University are now taking precautions themselves after returning from China.
Does the Big Island have enough Hospitals, Doctors and supplies if this virus makes it's way here?

about the 30K figures. Those are confirmed. Looking at the daily figure count it appears that China only has the capacity to test around 3000 per day and no more.
This could mean an exponential amount of infections. there are now over 400 million people in lock down in China. That's more than the entire population of the united states. This is much more than a common flu.

Bringing back the into question other people from Asia visiting our beautiful islands. This is gone beyond just people from China as some people can be exposed to the infection months before they become ill.

I also have no interest in arguing with you 1v1. Either you've taken some precautions for the possible down-side or you haven't. Given your background and demeanor, I doubt that you need to be given the bullets, beans, and band-aids pamphlet. So other than minimizing contact & thorough hand/face hygiene currently, I'm not sure what other recommendations you'd expect?

Like I said, the next few weeks will be very telling, especially as we get more data from outside of China which is less suspect. Even with just 2% CFR that would be near Spanish flu levels so if this isn't contained it could well be a major pandemic. However, SARS had 10% CFR and MERS had 30% CFR, but neither had any major health impacts here in Hawaii or more broadly in the U.S.

What's your advice for what everyone does in the meantime while we wait to find out?

Sure, the doctor who was arrested for fearmongering about this new infection back in December. Was exposed to it multiple times.

Edit:
I really have to commend the health care workers over there. Putting their lives on the line to care for the sick until they drop dead. I sometimes wonder if our healthcare workers would hold up under the same pressure or fold.
